Innovation Insights is an exclusive event series for UMKC faculty and graduate students, spotlighting impactful stories of innovation emerging from university research.
This month’s featured speaker is Bob Etzel, a serial entrepreneur who licensed iSocial from Mizzou, a platform designed to help individuals with autism build critical life skills.

Speakers:
• Innovator in Action: iSocial is a platform created by Mizzou researchers to help individuals with autism develop the skills they need to achieve independence and success in the workplace. Bob Etzel, a serial entrepreneur with six startups, licensed the technology and will share his journey of bringing iSocial to market, highlighting his collaboration with the university.
• Knowledge Leader: Jeff Blackwood, UMKC’s Director of the Commercialization Ecosystem, will provide a preview of exciting new innovation resources set to launch in October, designed to support faculty and graduate student innovators.
